What it is for

Six things a daily serving is actually working on

No transformation stories and no promises about your immune system. These are the specific jobs the formula is built to do, in the order customers tend to notice them.
  • Everyday digestive comfort

Live cultures and prebiotic fibre working together on the part of digestion you notice most: how you feel two hours after a meal.

  • Regularity you can plan around

The outcome customers mention more than any other. It is gradual rather than dramatic, and it tends to arrive somewhere around week three.

  • Support for the gut lining

Fermenting fibre produces short-chain fatty acids, and butyrate is the preferred fuel of the cells lining your colon. We supply the substrate.

  • Feeds the bacteria you already have

2.5 g of organic inulin and acacia fibre per serving. Your resident community outnumbers anything you can swallow, so it is worth feeding.

  • Cultures that arrive awake

Never freeze-dried, so there is no rehydration step to fail. What goes into the bottle is metabolically active and still active when you drink it.

  • A routine that survives a real week

Four seconds in the morning, straight or in water. The single biggest predictor of getting anything out of a probiotic is still taking it.

Bio-regulation

What makes probioform different?

Almost every probiotic on the shelf is sold on a top-up model. Your gut is a jar, good bacteria have gone missing from it, and a supplement refills the jar. It is an easy story to tell. It is also not how a microbiome behaves.

The bacteria in your large intestine compete for space and food, signal to each other chemically, crowd each other out and respond within hours to what you eat and how you sleep. Pouring a few billion cells of one species into a system with trillions of residents is not a refill. At best it is an input into an ongoing conversation.

Bio-regulation is our name for designing around that reality: support the conditions, feed the residents, deliver the cultures in a form that survives the trip, and be specific about what is known and what is not.

See the full mechanism

The top-up model

  • Treats your gut like a jar that has run low
  • Freeze-dried cells that have to wake up before they do anything
  • A headline cell count measured on the day it was made
  • Nothing at all for the trillions of bacteria already living there

Bio-regulation, our approach

  • Treats your gut as a community that responds to conditions
  • Live cultures that were never dried, so there is no restart to fail
  • A count guaranteed on the last day of shelf life, not the first
  • 2.5 g of prebiotic fibre for the residents, every single serving

  • Rated 5 out of 5Daily digestion

The first one I have actually finished

I have a shelf of half-used probiotic capsules that I stopped taking within a fortnight. This is the first one I have gone through three full bottles of, mostly because it takes about four seconds in the morning and there is nothing to remember beyond opening the fridge.

  • Rated 5 out of 5Bloating after meals

    Less of the afternoon heaviness

What changed for me was the afternoon. I used to feel weighed down and bloated after lunch most days and I had stopped noticing it because it was just normal. Around week five it was not happening any more. I only clocked it when my partner asked why I had stopped complaining.

  • Rated 5 out of 5Post-antibiotic support

    Genuinely useful after antibiotics

I started this two days after finishing a course of antibiotics on the advice of a friend rather than a doctor, so take that as you will. Things settled faster than the last time I went through the same thing. I have kept taking it since.

  • Rated 4 out of 5Daily digestion

Works, but the taste takes a week

Four stars purely because nobody warned me properly about the flavour. It is tart and a bit savoury, which is what a real ferment tastes like, but the first two mornings were a surprise. I take it in a small glass of water now and it is completely fine. The effect on my digestion has been the most consistent of anything I have tried.

  • Rated 5 out of 5Regularity

    Regularity, finally

I will not be graphic about it. Things are predictable now in a way they have not been for years, and that has been worth far more to me than the price of a bottle. It took about three weeks before I would have said anything was different.

The six strains

  • Lactobacillus acidophilus
  • Lactiplantibacillus plantarum
  • Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus
  • Bifidobacterium lactis
  • Bifidobacterium longum
  • Lactococcus lactis
  • Never freeze-dried

The cultures are metabolically active when they go into the bottle and active when they leave it. There is no dormancy to reverse.

  • Counted at expiry, not at manufacture

25 billion CFU is what the bottle holds on the last day of its shelf life. Most labels quote the number on the day it was made.

  • Third-party tested, batch by batch

Every batch is tested by an accredited independent laboratory for cell count, contaminating organisms and heavy metals.

Questions

The things people ask before their first bottle

Straight answers, including the ones where the honest response is that we do not know.

What exactly is probioform?

probioform is a liquid probiotic and microbiome bio-regulator. Each daily 30 ml serving delivers live, active cultures that were never freeze-dried, the postbiotic compounds those cultures produce during fermentation, and prebiotic fibre that feeds the bacteria already living in your gut. It is a food supplement, not a medicine.

How is a bio-regulator different from a normal probiotic?

A conventional probiotic works on a top-up model: add more bacteria. A bio-regulator is built around the conditions those bacteria respond to. That means live cultures rather than dormant ones, the full ferment rather than isolated cells, and prebiotic substrate for your existing community, which is far larger than anything you can swallow. It is a support formula, not a reset button.

How do I take it, and when?

Shake the bottle, then take 30 ml once a day. Morning on an empty stomach is what we suggest, around fifteen minutes before food. Take it neat or in a small glass of cool water, never hot water, which damages live cultures. If your digestion is sensitive, start on 15 ml for the first five days and then move up.

How long before I notice anything?

Most people who notice a change describe it somewhere between weeks two and six, and it is usually gradual rather than sudden. Some people notice nothing, and that is a genuine outcome we are not going to pretend away. Microbiome composition responds to sustained inputs, so we suggest giving it three consistent months before deciding either way.

Does it need to be refrigerated?

Unopened bottles are stable at room temperature until the date printed on the label. Once opened, keep it refrigerated and use it within eight weeks. The cultures are live, which is the whole point of the format, and heat is what ends them. Never leave a bottle in a hot car.

Can I take it with medication?

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist first, particularly if you are taking immunosuppressants, or if you are undergoing chemotherapy or any treatment that affects your immune system. If you are on antibiotics, most guidance is to space a probiotic two to three hours away from the dose. We are not able to give you individual medical advice and will not try to.
